In Austria, I have ample experience with the canyons in Vorarlberg, but of course we can also include Tyrol. Ticino in Switzerland is considered the “Canyoning Mecca” of Europe, let’s say this says enough about this region. In Italy I use to go to the famous Como and the lesser known but absolutely no less beautiful Domodossola and Noasca, which are less crowded.
Whether it is Austria, Switzerland or Italy, each region has incredibly beautiful canyons, each enchanting in their own way. Even if you do the same canyon again another time, the experience is different.
As a child, did you ever wonder during a walk (in the mountains): “I want to play in that river and follow it for a while!”? Well, that’s Canyoning: we follow a mountain river downstream. To overcome the natural obstacles on our way, we not only have to climb and clamber, but also possibly abseil, jump, slide and even swim.
Every canyon is different: one extreme is very alpine (large height difference over the tour) and you mainly have to abseil without, for example, jumping / sliding / swimming; the other extreme is very aquatic which means that you mainly have to swim and have possibilities to do jumps or take slides. Between this “alpine” and “aquatic” type there is a very wide range of canyons which are very interesting to discover!
Would you really like to go on a canyoning trip, but you cannot find partners along? Be sure to contact me! I keep a list and try to group up interested adventurers. To agree on a common date, be sure to indicate your preferred range of dates while filling out the form.
Beginner or experienced? Vorarlberg has it all: On one hand, the enchanting Merlins World tour with its towering rock walls; on the other, the more rugged Hard Rock tour, where you actively learn to abseil.
During this canyoning shortie, we will explore three different canyons, learn to rappel independently, and enjoy nature. No prior canyoning experience is required for this trip. The guidance can be adjusted to suit each individual’s skill level within the group.

Program:
Depending on the weather (for safety reasons: canyoning is not a bad-weather alternative), the program is determined and adjusted daily if necessary. For example:
In the mornings or afternoons (depending on the weather), we regularly have free time, for example, to experience some culture, take a short hike, or simply relax.
Here we find canyons that are absolutely among the most beautiful in the world. You must have seen it yourself. For the real fanatics who have had at least a first experience. On request only.
Based on the group’s experience and preferences, a program is created while considering the weather conditions. To have more flexibility and chase the best weather, I suggest staying at a campsite.
We can always plan a rest day as well. In the morning or afternoon (depending on the weather), we regularly have free time to explore some culture or simply relax.
Do you want to combine one or more canyoning tours with other activities on your trip? Then read more on the combinations page.
